Rubies 2021: Introducing the Opera Canada Awards honourees

Gramophone Magazine selects the Chandos recording of Benjamin Britten’s Peter Grimes as the best recording of 2021!
Gramophone Magazine is the recognized world authority on all classical music recordings. Each year it chooses the best recording in several classical music categories and from that winners’ list chooses the best recording of the year. For 2021 the two SACD set of the opera Peter Grimes was chosen as the winner. Erin sang Ellen Orford, the principal female lead on this recording, which was recorded in December, 2019 at the Grieghallen in Bergen, Norway.
